We are offering 12-month internships for new and recent veterinary graduates, to start Summer 2025.  These are full-time positions joining our 11 other vets (including medical & surgical certificate holders) and dedicated nursing team, all of whom will be committed
to helping you succeed in your chosen career.  Our internship positions offer a good balance between working and learning - we provide a highly supportive environment designed to enable you to become a well-rounded first opinion vet.  You will enhance your
diagnostic and therapeutic skills through a structured, hands-on approach that can be tailored to your clinical interests; we strive to give you the best start to your veterinary career.  We have a trained VetGDP Advisor who will provide support to complete
your VetGDP throughout your time with us.

With a varied mix of leisure and competition horses, our interns are exposed to a high orthopaedic and first opinion caseload.  Throughout the 12 months you will develop your clinical decision-making skills by working alongside our experienced clinicians, advanced
practitioners in both medicine and surgery, and visiting surgical diplomats.  You will be an integral part of our regular lameness days and develop your anaesthesia skills supporting the team on surgical days.  Exposure to both hospital and ambulatory practice is achieved through a rotational basis of one week ambulatory and one week in clinic with 1 in 2 weekends and 1 in 2 weeknights on call.  During late Spring and Summer 2026 you will work closely with our repro vet, gaining experience of routine fertility work, stallion collection and semen processing.  We hold regular ‘Clinical Club’ sessions to share and discuss cases/good practice, and also morbidity and mortality rounds.

We hope to recruit someone who will grab this opportunity and work hard to learn as much as possible in this supportive environment.  Previous interns who have thrived have been self-starters unafraid to ask questions and learn from colleagues, able to recognise the gaps in their skill set and actively seek ways to address them. Communication will be key, as will enthusiasm and resilience - we work in a challenging but ultimately rewarding industry, and we look forward to welcoming you to it!  If you would like an informal ‘warts and all’ chat with one of our current interns please email me and we can arrange this…

We offer a competitive salary and accommodation as part of the remuneration package, with the bonus of every 2nd Friday off work to assist in achieving a good work-life balance.  A vehicle is not supplied but mileage is paid.  Benefits include accommodation, Private Healthcare, RCVS fees paid, £1k CPD allowance (which can be used towards BEVA membership) and staff discount.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
