Following their meeting on Tuesday 28 May, Committee Chair Phil Cramp gives us an update on the latest work of the Careers Committee. Key topics discussed included:
• Using university careers days and the vet school tours to present a realistic picture of what life’s like in equine practice and encouraging students to consider the profession after graduation.
• Providing students with resources to supplement their studies and advice on career progression.
• The maintenance and development of existing projects to support new graduates including the BEVA Recognised Internship Scheme and Leg Up programme.
• The launch of our Back in the Saddle programme to support vets returning to work after a break or those feeling a little lost in their careers.
