BEVA members encouraged to share British Equestrian's Equine Health Week resources with clients

Over the past five days, British Equestrian (BE)’s Equine Health Week has focused on equine wellness and wellbeing. Aimed at everyone who interacts with horses, from occasional riders to owners, BE hope that their series of podcast episodes will demonstrate the role that everyone has to play in the health, wellbeing and welfare of our equine partners.

The podcast series provides easy to digest information that would be beneficial to anyone engaging with horses on a regular basis and cover important current topics, so please consider sharing these with your clients. So far the episodes have provided an overview of equine wellbeing with farrier Ben Benson, discussed tackling obesity with behavioural scientist Tamzin Furtado, provided information on worming with BEVA Council Member Nicky Housby-Skeggs and taken a closer look at soundness with Olympic vet Liz Brown.

Today’s podcast sees Honorary BEVA Member Celia Marr discuss prevention and protection with Richard Newton from Cambridge University. Both Celia and Richard also sit on BE’s Equine Infectious Diseases Advisory Group. Over the weekend you can tune in to hear from BEVA Treasurer and CEO of World Horse Welfare, Roly Owers as he takes a deep dive into equine welfare with World Horse Welfare colleague Janet Douglas and British horse Council member Jane Nixon.

You can find all of the podcast episodes here, as well as on your preferred podcast player – just search British Equestrian.

BE’s social media channels are also sharing useful resources for owners which BEVA encourages you to disseminate amongst your clients.
