At the end of this internship we would anticipate that the individuals will have developed a wide range of competencies including lameness investigation, anaesthesia, reproductive work, diagnostic imaging and management of colic cases. The applicants should become well-grounded to enter private practice or apply for further post-graduate training.
The interns will be responsible for in-patient care, client communication and will assist with out-patient appointments, emergency admissions and surgery. Prior experience of equine anaesthesia is an advantage. The interns will be encouraged to complete a case report/series with the final aim of publication in a peer reviewed journal and relevant support will be given for this.
