CLINICAL VETERINARIAN IN FIRST OPINION PRACTICE (Senior Clinical Veterinarian)

Location: Cambridge Vet School, Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge

If so, the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge Vet School has an exciting opportunity for you!

Role Overview: We are looking to expand our Ambulatory service offering and seek an experienced Clinical Veterinarian in First Opinion Equine Practice to join our dynamic Ambulatory team. As a Senior Clinical Veterinarian, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical services and teaching final-year veterinary students during their equine clinical rotations.

  • Salary: Up to £58,596 per annum depending on experience, plus additional remuneration for out-of-hours duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high standard of clinical service in equine general practice as a senior member of the team.
  • Support the Principal Clinical Veterinarian in Equine General Practice.
  • Participate in the teaching and mentorship of veterinary students as part of their equine clinical rotations.
  • Contribute to the expansion and enhancement of our first-opinion equine services.
  • Engage in out-of-hours rota which attracts additional remuneration.

About Us:

We are an independent equine practice operating out of the vet school site including the Queens Veterinary School Hospital. You will be working alongside a diverse and integrated equine clinical team and embedded within a wider community of clinicians and support staff dedicated to providing compassionate veterinary clinical services to patients and clients in the Cambridgeshire area. Cambridge Equine provides ambulatory services within a 40-mile radius of the vet school, supported by outstanding clinic facilities including a new indoor menage, several well-equipped treatment rooms with stocks, full-surgical facilities, and an impressive array of equipment. Our team includes equine RVNs, experienced techs, with support from specialists in anaesthesia, clinical pathology and radiology.

Requirements:

  • Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
  • Significant experience in equine general practice.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring veterinary students.
