Picture yourself leading the largest and best-equipped equine practice in the region, where you'll be treating everything from beloved family ponies to high-level competition horses. Our reputation for excellence means we even welcome referrals from the Scottish islands - how cool is that?
Here’s what makes Ardene House special:
. A Team That Cares: Join our friendly team of 7 equine vets, 2 equine nursing assistants, a newly qualified Equine RVN, and 4 dedicated office staff. We're all about collaboration and supporting each other’s growth.

. Specialist Support Network: We're proud to have an advanced practitioner in equine internal medicine, a vet working towards their emergency and critical care certificate, an acupuncturist, a visiting equine surgical specialist, a visiting dental specialist, and a visiting advanced practitioner in equine dentistry and we work closely together with the farriers in our area.
. Work-Life Balance, Reimagined: We were pioneers in flexible working, and we’re committed to making your work fit your life. We have a dedicated out-of-hours on-call vet (covering 50% of the OOH shifts), leaving a remaining 1:8 OOH rota, with a half day after a weeknight and a Friday off after a weekend on-call. Plus, let's chat about what flexible schedule works for you!
. Aberdeenshire: Your Adventure Playground: Breathtaking mountains, stunning coastlines, and endless outdoor activities. Whether you love hiking, mountain biking, climbing, beach walks, or just soaking in the scenery, you'll find it all here. And when you want a taste of city life, Aberdeen offers a vibrant cultural scene and fantastic dining.
. Little Luxuries: Expect regular office treats and bi-monthly cake/treat days with the whole team.
. Continuous Learning & Growth: We foster a culture of learning with bi-monthly journal clubs and ongoing case discussions. We're especially passionate about upholding high ethical standards in areas like antimicrobial resistance and sustainable deworming, ensuring our practices are both cutting-edge and responsible.
. Your Passions, Our Priority: We encourage you to explore and develop your specific areas of interest.
. Social Connections: We have regular outings like beach walks, restaurant visits, badminton, and more. Excellent communication within the team in and out of hours (social, emergency, general - up to you, how much/little you want to be involved).
. A Package That Values You: We’re offering a competitive salary up to £75,000, a warm welcome bonus of up to £5,000, and a relocation allowance of up to £8,000.
