Assistant veterinary surgeon role

Exciting opportunity for a new/recent graduate to gain valuable experience in equine ambulatory practice. We are looking for a keen and practical veterinary surgeon to join our practice for 18 months starting ideally in February/ March 2025.  It is an 18 month post with the potential for longer for the right candidate.

The role will be perfect for a recent graduate with good horsemanship skills who would like support and experience in an ambulatory role with diagnostic procedures and standing surgery.

Full support will be provided for lameness work ups, radiography, ultrasound scanning, reproduction scans, airway scopes and gastroscopy.

There are no on call duties with this role i.e. no nights/weekend duties/ bank holidays.  The candidate would be shielded from full responsibility and mentoring would be provided throughout the work day.  CPD is heavily encouraged.

The practice has a mixed client base from leisure to professional riders.  We are a small practice aiming to provide a high standard of care for our patients.  An interest in western riding and quarter horses is advantageous but not essential.  It is a very friendly practice with a great atmosphere and good work ethics and we would like to find a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated person to join our small team.
