It is with great sadness that we report the death of Professor G B (Barrie) Edwards CBE BVSc DVetMed FRCVS following a stroke last week.
Known as the 'doyen of colic surgeons', Barrie Edwards was a focus for international admiration for British equine surgery and was the role model for hundreds of young clinicians. He was a brilliant, inspiring and sympathetic teacher to generations of students and elicited consistent loyalty, admiration and gratitude.
He will be sorely missed.
