A team from B&W Equine Hospital, Bell Equine Hopsital and the University of Nottingham have developed an app, available on apple and android devices with the aim of gathering data on surgical castration techniques and observed complications in both ambulatory and hospital settings. The aim is to assess the prevalence of complications and how different surgical techniques and perioperative management impacts outcomes.
The team need as many veterinary practices involved as possible to ensure we are able to draw valid conclusions from the data. Those practices that participate will receive annual reports on castration numbers and the complications observed by vets and owners.
