BEVA and the horse sector have secured a deferment of the full ID checks on imported equine semen at Border Control Posts (BCP), which was scheduled to come into effect on 30th April. BEVA will now be working with Defra on a pilot project to trial a system whereby the inseminating vet verifies the semen, and thereby the lengthy BCP check can be bypassed. Please contact the BEVA office if you would like to be involved in the pilot.
