College announces updates to Practice Standards Scheme modules

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has recently made minor updates to the Practice Standards Scheme’s (PSS) modules for accreditations and awards. 

Annual renewal reminder for veterinary surgeons

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is reminding veterinary surgeons that annual renewals must be completed by 1 April 2017. Those who pay their fees after 30 April 2017 will be charged an extra £35 to renew their registration while those who have not paid by 31 May 2017 will be removed from the Register.

College to consult with profession on guidance for telemedicine services

On Monday 13 February 2017 the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) will be launching a consultation asking for the views of the veterinary and veterinary nurse professions on the use of telemedicine in veterinary clinical practice.

Equine Sector 2017 Mid-Term Manifesto for the Horse

The equine industry in the UK is both vibrant and valuable, contributing £8bn a year to the economy. With around 1m horses, the sector has a gross output of £4.3bn a year and is the second largest rural employer after agriculture. There are 1.3m regular riders and a latent sector of 3.1m former riders would like to return to the saddle, meaning that our infrastructure must be robust enough to support this desire to be active.

RCVS joins forces with Doctors’ Support Network in new campaign to tackle mental health stigma in health professions

At the Palace of Westminster yesterday (Tuesday 31 January 2017) the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and the Doctors’ Support Network (DSN) have joined forces to launch the ‘&me’ campaign which aims to tackle mental health stigma in the health professions by encouraging prominent members to speak out about their own experiences.
