New RCVS Ethics Review Panel now accepting clinical research proposals

Research proposals are now being accepted by an Ethics Review Panel set up by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) for a one-year trial in order to conduct ethical review for practice-based clinical research. 

Nominations Open For SPVS Practice Wellbeing Award 2016

Do you know a practice who goes beyond the norm to ensure the wellbeing of their staff? Then why not make sure they are nominated for this year's SPVS Wellbeing Award?  SPVS, who are holding the award in partnership with the RCVS Mind Matters Initiative, have provided an example of an nomination, but are also hoping the 750 word limit includes client and/or staff quotes, as well as photos.  Branches or whole practices can be nominated and there are three different categories depending on the number of practice staff. The closing date is the 31st October and entries can be made here. BEVA Member Tufnell Makes Maiden RCVS President Speech

Horse Shot With An Arrow

A horse was shot in the head with an arrow in what the RSPCA described as a "wicked attack".

College investing £225k to improve concerns process

Over the next six months the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is investing £225,000 in its Professional Conduct Department’s concerns investigation process in order to increase the speed at which concerns are either closed or referred, ensure that it meets its service standards and reduce stress for the public and profession.
