This essential course combines online learning and a practical day to covers handling difficult situations and eye and skin examinations.
Before attending the practical day, you will have access to online lectures and quizzes. Your lectures will cover examining the eye, the skin and time management.
On your practical day, you will have the chance to get hands-on practising techniques required to examine, diagnose, and treat common ophthalmic and dermatologic conditions. Small group rotations will cover obtaining skin samples, using your ophthalmoscope, swabbing, nerve blocking and ultrasonography of the eye on cadavers. You will also discuss methods of approaching difficult situations, how to manage your time and what to do when things go wrong.
Please note, this course will involve travelling from The Barn at Berkeley to B&W Equine Hospital.
