Fundamentals of Lameness, Laminitis and Farriery offers a unique opportunity to perfect a range of lameness presentations, understand the most common lower limb diseases and perform common nerve and joint blocks under the guidance of leading experts.
Prior to attending the practical day you will be given access to online lectures. These will cover when to refer a lameness case, insurance, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic laminitis, osteoarthritis, remedial shoeing, common diseases of the lower limbs and the assessment of back and pelvis problems and an overview of Objective Gait Analysis.
You will then join us at The Horse Trust to put your new found knowledge into practice. You will gain invaluable experience in identifying lameness and discuss approaches to different lameness cases on live horses, as well as practising lower limb nerve blocks and intra-articular blocks on cadavers.
The online learning will be available to access at least two weeks before the practical and available for up to 12 months afterwards.
This course is part of our Fundamentals of Equine Practice series. By working with leading equine practices we’ve developed 10 practical courses that provide the essential skills necessary to thrive in equine practice. See the rest of the series.
