book iconAbout the Course

This course will delve deeper into the world of equine behaviour with more of a focus on abnormal behavioural responses. It will explore all of the factors that contribute to these cases including:

  • Ethological needs and the influence of the environment on a horses neurophysiology and subsequent behaviour.
  • Learning theory in training horses, the science behind when it works and when it doesn't.
  • Physical causes, from pain to hormones, this course will discuss how to investigate the cases where a physical cause is suspected but there is no obvious lameness.

thinking iconKey Learning Objectives

  • Enhance your understanding of equine ethology and how it influences healthy neurophysiology
  • Enhance your knowledge of the science underpinning learning theory
