10 Jul 2021 08:30 - 10 Jul 2021 17:00
Royal Veterinary College, Hawkshead Lane, AL9 7TA
This event has been postponed from 15 May and will now take place on 10 July 2021. There is no doubt that the equine back presents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for all equine practitioners. The anatomy of the back is complex and pain can arise from several structures caused by a variety of problems, which are usually multi-factorial and often interlinked resulting in a range of clinical signs. In this course, the delegates will be guided through the diagnosis and therapy of back problems. The speakers have been chosen for their expertise and practical skills. They will focus on giving highly practical guidance and tips on how to examine, image and treat horses presenting with back pain. We will also give an insight into the objective measurement of back movement and how elite equine athlete’s back movements are measured. The practical sessions will give the opportunity for the delegates to get hands on experience in small group teaching. The course is suitable for anyone who wants to know more about this challenging area and wants to optimise their approach to these cases. This course is now open to nurses and physiotherapists as well as qualified vets, BEVA members can book at a discounted rate. Please contact the office directly to book on 01638 723 555 or via email - events@beva.org.uk.The course is offered as a blended session with introductory material and lectures provided online in advance of the practical day. On 10th July we will run the practical sessions in small groups through the day.
