EQUINE VETERINARY SURGEONS

Heath Equine Veterinary Practice is an independently owned, ambulatory equine practice with clientele focused around Cheshire, Shropshire, North Wales and the Wirral. We aim to provide outstanding veterinary care to all of our patients. Since opening, we have received an overwhelmingly positive response, and are now looking to recruit the 6th and 7th vets to join the team.

Our routine work encompasses multiple large racing yards (Flat and National Hunt) where orthopaedic examinations, respiratory endoscopy and poor performance investigations feature heavily as well as routine yard management. In addition, our private client sector includes multiple smaller show-jumping, eventing, hunting and leisure horse clients providing an array of interesting cases.

We have portable digital radiography (Sound Sprint Air, Quattro Slate & AGFA Musica), Ultrasound (2 x Logic E’s & Sonoscape X3V), Endoscopy (MedView Upper airway endoscope and gastroscope), Neovet shockwave, surgical laser and battery operated dental gear plus nurse/vet tech support to provide services on yard. We are looking for vets who are 'people people' with solid communication skills and a real passion for patient and client care. Our practice strives to be friendly and approachable, with a strong team work ethic, so we are looking for like- minded people.

We are ideally looking for an experienced vet and also a more recent graduate who has ideally completed an internship. The team is made up of Certificate holders and an ECVS Surgery Diplomate. Working up your own cases is encouraged, but full support is available. We provide a strong nurturing environment for vets who want to expand their skillset and be exposed to advanced practitioner cases. Future plans include the development of clinic facilities to offer standing surgeries and therefore this role would appeal to those working towards a further qualification in orthopaedics and basic surgery. Experience in racehorse work would be advantageous but not mandatory.
