Equine Vet - Penn Equine Vets - Somerset

Vet
03 Feb 2025 BEVA

We have an opening for an equine vet with experience to join us at our independent, ambulatory practice in Somerset. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and keen to prioritise clinical care and client relations. We have a lovely client base; the majority are keen to work cases up to a high standard, providing plenty of opportunity to gain experience and apply advanced skills. In the longer term the opportunity to take on a more managerial role with partnership ambitions is available.

The role is full time, requiring 40 hours per week, this can be worked as a condensed four day working week if desired. We are also open to discussing part time options and a re-location package is available to the right candidate.

An excellent package will be offered including a generous salary dependent on experience, RCVS and VDS fees paid, CPD budget of £2K and 5 days allowance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and we give you your birthday off.  OOH is shared equally with 50% covered by Equicall.

Our experienced equine team includes certificate holders and we are keen to support clinical development and work towards a certificate if desired. We see a diverse mix of patients from race horses and international competition horses to back yard ponies and donkeys.

The practice is fully equipped with mobile equipment including battery powered DR, ultrasound, power dental rasps, oral endoscope, surgical laser, gastroscope and respiratory scope. You would be expected to work up your own cases with support when required.

The practice is based out of our office at the Agricultural Centre in Standerwick which is a spacious country setting with the buzz of the cattle market twice a week. Frome is a vibrant town with many opportunities and is in the top 10 places to live in Somerset.
