EMÜ Equine Hospital is an equine referral center located in Tartu, Estonia. We offer a 14-month clinical internship program open to veterinary graduates worldwide. The objective of this internship is to provide comprehensive equine clinical experience throughthe following aims:

· Develop clinical skills under the guidance of experienced veterinarians.

· Foster interpersonal skills through communication with referring veterinarians, clients, and our dedicated hospital team.

· Stimulate curiosity-driven motivation.

· Nurture academic and professional development.

· While primarily an in-hospital internship, there may be opportunities for interns to rotate into the field.

 

Applications for the 2025-2026 internship will be accepted until March 30th 2025. The official start date of the internship is July 21th 2025, with the possibility of an earlier start upon discussion.

Tartu, Estonia's second-largest city, is known for its vibrant cultural scene and rich history. As a university town, it offers a lively atmosphere with numerous cultural activities, events, and festivals throughout the year. The city is home to the prestigious University of Tartu, attracting a diverse and international community. Living in Tartu means enjoying a blend of historic charm and modern amenities. The Old Town, with its cobblestone streets and historic buildings, provides a picturesque setting, while neighborhoods like Karlova and Supilinn offer unique vibes with colorful wooden houses and garden-like atmospheres. Tartu is also surrounded by beautiful nature, including forests and lakes, making it an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. The city has several parks, such as Toome Hill Park and the Botanical Garden of the University of Tartu, perfect for walking, jogging, or simply relaxing. Despite its small size, Tartu boasts a variety of dining options, from traditional Estonian cuisine to international flavors. The cost of living is relatively low, making it an affordable option for students and professionals alike. While winters can be cold and dark, the city's well-developed infrastructure, including reliable public transportation and good internet connectivity, ensures a comfortable living experience. Learning some Estonian can be beneficial, but many locals speak English, making it easier for international residents to adapt.

· Reference letters from 2 veterinarians, preferably equine veterinarians
